What is the name and nature of your business?
Pink Lining, Design led changing bags, childrens bags & paraphernalia

What inspired you to start it?
I had already started Pink Lining as a successful purely designer bag label having children inspired me to design a changing bag which became so successful that we re concentrated the business around this niche.
How does it fit in with family life?
Running ones own business means that whilst one has to work extremely hard, long hours; they can often be tailored around family life, especially within the maternity industry.
Biggest learning curve so far?
Continuing my design knowledge with a financial understanding of the business ,designing a bag and then tailoring it to cohere within the correct price boundaries. Also get everything in writing especially orders!
Most positive experience
When Harrods and John Lewis placed their 1st Pink Lining orders and the awards that Pink Lining have won. Also meeting such lovely people in the industry has been very positive!

Where would you like to be in five years time?
On holiday with all my family!
What advice would you give to other mothers hoping to combine motherhood with a new business idea?
Be passionate about your business idea it will require a lot of work and dedication so passion is essential! Also research your market and unique selling point!

Charlotte is helping to raise money for children’s charity NSPCC with a limited edition changing bag.
