I can recall the first time I saw a microscooter. This rather small child was whizzing past me and I remember looking on in amazement at the levels of control this child displayed. In Surrey, I can confidently say that where you tend to see a pushchair, you will more often than not, see a child on a micro scooter whizzing alongside.
We decided to road test the Maxi Micro Scooter T-bar 6-12yrs and Maxi Micro Scooter Orange Joystick scooters for 8-12yrs
The Maxi Scooter is the natural progression from the Mini Micro Scooter. It is sturdy, has a wider board at the base and is the perfect step up for the older child. We asked Leah (9) to road test it for us.

Verdict:
“I really like the Purple and Silver colours and it is great fun to be able to keep fit and scoot to school. I find it really easy to steer and to stop at the roads. Overall, I have been practicing for a month and I have never worried about falling off or hurting myself. It is very well put together and perfect for my age”.
The Maxi Micro Orange Joystick is designed for the older age range of 8-12yrs. It is a very funky product and has all of the main features that make up a microscooter. I was intrigued to find out whether it would still appeal to the older age range. We asked Matthew (11) to road test it for us,

Verdict:
“At first, I was worried I would not look cool, scooting to school. However, I love the joystick control and the way I can weave in and out of people whilst still keeping control. The main board is wide enough for both of my feet and the Orange and Black colours are perfect for a boy of my age. I really do love it, it is nice that there is an alternative for my age range other than bikes.”
